Teusner
Righteous FG Shiraz 2012
Dark, bold and overwhelmingly rich and sweet in fruit. Very dark in colour. Huge dose of blackcurrant, elderberry and oak in smell and taste – unfortunately that’s as far as it goes. There isn’t really anything that could compete with those intense, sweet flavours – it’s more like a port – for me, overall a real lack of balance.
It gets a bit better with decanting for several hours – becomes more balanced, you get prune and a hint pepper to give to some spice – very soft tannins and acidity.
